In Sunderganj, locals attacked the officers and employees and Ansar in the areas of setting up solar power plants in the Teesta river char in Sundarganj. Later, six local people were injured in the counter attack by the Ansar and the police.

This incident happened in Tarapur union of Sundarganj upazila on Tuesday afternoon. Local chairman Aminul Islam said officially the decision to set up solar power plant in Charkhodder and Lathasalar char in Sundarganj has been taken. But the project is meant to be set up on the land, but the land owned land is also required. For this, the Ansar camp was installed for the safety of the plant area. Since then villagers had disagreements with the plant officials and employees.
Meanwhile, the villagers of the officials and employees of the officials were arguing on Tuesday. The clash began when Ansar members resisted the villagers. The villagers organized and set fire to the Ansar camp. When the police reached the spot, the villagers locked the police and the Ansar officers along with their officials demanding their land.
Later, police and Ansar members dispersed the rubber bullets to the locals. Six villagers were injured in this.
Sundarganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Kibria said, the villagers have urged villagers to stay away from the conflict with the assurance of investigation. The situation has been brought under control.
Gaibandha Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan Mia said additional police were deployed to prevent the deterioration of the situation.
