Tesla-The Day the Automobile Became Next Level

in #tesla7 years ago (edited)

It was about a year ago when I sat down inside a Model S for a boot around the neighborhood.  Someone I barely knew at a mutual friends party who made millions selling a tech company bought one in a jet fire red and I had asked to go for a spin riding shotgun.  One felt a bit like Captain Kirk sitting in the cockpit as the user interface display is larger than some home TV screens.  The car started with barley any noise.  In fact one wouldn't even know it was running if they weren't able to recall themselves turning it on.  The accelerator gets some down force and then, the car shoots forward like the fuel source is plutonium and that we're about to embark on a trip to 1955.  No internal combustion, no lag, nothing, nada, just an explosion.  The launch of a rocket ship that doesn't so much scare as it does excite because it's so refined.  That's when I was hooked.  I was hooked because the experience needed to be there, needed to be different, a new chapter.  A car without the need for fossil fuel ever again.  The fact that you never had to go to a gas station anymore and at the same time beat a $250,000.00 Porsche off the line.  The tragedy of Nikola Tesla left disgraced and used by the so called inventor and very much known capitalist Thomas Edison now sees the light of day 100 years later with an invention.  His invention.   The invention that will spell the beginning of the end to a toxic era of dirty energy and a path to a more sustainable future.  Thx Tesla for setting a precedent...  And doing it with style!
