Ipok-Puppetry Luang prabang laos culture

One of only two traditional performing arts, traditional puppetry belonged to the ceremonial traditions of the royal court. Using handmade rod-puppets (ipok), it was performed in public view in function areas of Temples for the duration of town festivals and imbued religious significance and customs. Under a Full Moon, the Vat Pak Khan grounds will be the site of a rare performance of the Nangkeo and Demon dances and the ThaoPhutthasaen folktale at 6 pm.
