Churning the ocean.
Have been to thailand's svarna Bhumi airport, if you have been there you must have this big statue of large snake is rapped around a mountain and some guys are pulling the head of snake and some are pulling the tail.
So this is a story from Hindu mythology where demons and gods are churning the ocean. The mountain is placed on the back of a turtle.
The hindi name for this incident is samundra manthan( ocean churning)
Those guys are churning the ocean to obtain the immortality potion , but while churning many things came out of the ocean and one of that was a dangerous poison . So the demons and god's requested shiva to help them , shiva drank the poison and Shiva's wife saw this and immediately put her hand on Shiva's throat . If you ever come across shiva statue, see carefully Shiva's throat , it will be blue because of the poison. Usually you will see a snake hanging around Shiva's neck, some say the snake holds the poison and stops it from going past the throat.
The story is long and interesting ( if you like this kind of stories) , if you want read more about this just search this term 'samundra manthon' . Hope you find this interesting.
