The Thalassa Museum opened in 2005 and cases to be the main significant fascination in the Mediterranean committed to the ocean.
Given the inventory of marine civilisations that settled in Cyprus, this is the perfect place for such a fascination.
The museum covers 7,000 years of human sea history, with displays beginning in the Neolithic age and traveling through the Bronze age to the Classical time frame.
Supplementing these antiquities are regular displays of fossils and shells, nearby protected turtle, fish and starfish examples.
