100 DAYS OF STEEM : Day 99 - Our Thoughts on the 100 Days of Steem

We have now reached the penultimate day of the 100 Days of Steem project.

When we set off on this journey a little over 3 months ago we really didn’t know what to expect.

The Steem Community had been through a very difficult couple of months. Our goal with the 100 Days project was to bring the Community back together and help it find a way forward.

We believe the 100 Days project has been a success.

We see positivity, enthusiasm and a collective will to see Steem move forward to become a place that people want to be part of.

The 100 Days of Steem - What Worked Well

Although a few parts of the 100 Days were not so successful, we are delighted that so many of the initiatives started during the project worked well and often exceeded our expectations.

The biggest individual success story of the 100 Days of Steem has certainly been The Diary Game.

When we started that we thought perhaps 60 or 70 people might get involved in line with the earlier challenges. It now looks like the final participation number will be around 350!

As well as the simple numbers The Diary Game has generated something that has been missing from Steem for a long time.

It has created excitement, it has created a buzz and it has created a desire to get involved.

With the new instant signup system arriving just at the right time, The Diary Game has provided a perfect vehicle for new people to sign up, to get involved, to create content and to start earning rewards from day one.

The 100 Days project has not just been about The Diary Game.

The Weekly Challenges were successful trailblazers for The Diary Game.

The Challenges attracted a growing loyal following who were happy to join in creating content on specific topics two or three times a week.

Although we consider them still a work in progress both the Community Curators and the STEEM POD have proved successful.

They have both helped widen the curation base across the community to keep more people involved and active on the blockchain.

We are looking forward to developing these further with the new plan for Country Representatives announced recently.

The Steem Greeters project has been a very successful offshoot of the STEEM POD.

We see this as a good example of the sort of project that can arise when the community is given the right stimulus and support.

Going forward we are keen to build on this path of giving delegated SP directly to community members to help support Steem growth initiatives around the world.

On a smaller scale we are very happy that we have been able to support a number of charities through our Steem Charities initiative of donating all our post beneficiary rewards.

This is something we hope to be able to do more of in the future.

To bring it right up to the present we are very excited about the new Shopping Game and the Lucky 10s game.

Both of these have got off to a very good start with over 50 people participating in each after only a few days.

The 100 Days of Steem - What Worked Less Well

Inevitably there were a few parts of the 100 Days that didn’t work as well as hoped, or that we weren’t able to pursue for various reasons.

Going right back to Day 1 we had planned to set up a Steem Community Hub on Discord. However because of the likely excessive moderation requirements it was decided that it would be unwise to pursue at the time. This is something we may revisit again soon.

Some other issues such as tackling abuse and improving the Communities feature both required more resources than were available at the time. These are still on the agenda but need careful consideration before further progress is made.

The Steem Mentoring System took on a different form with the Steem Greeters project.

The Contest Support Fund has been utilized but only to a limited extent.

Overall we feel there have been a lot more positives than negatives with the 100 Days of Steem.

If one considers where Steem was at the start of the project and where Steem is now at the end of the 100 Days we strongly believe that the project can be regarded as a resounding success.

Over the past 100 days the project has moved Steem from being in ‘revive mode’, through ‘survive mode' to where it sits now at the start of a new age of THRIVE.

Before we conclude our review of the 100 Days project we would like to publicly and clearly state our thanks to all of you in the Steem community.

The 100 Days project would have meant nothing without your participation, your commitment and your enthusiasm.

We hope you have enjoyed the past 100 days as much as we have.

Thank you,

The Steemit Team

PS Make sure you check in tomorrow when we reveal what comes next....

The 100 days of steem been overall successful for me. Sure there's some slack here and there but the progress and results in overall weighed out that. We are looking forward to what's next for us in Steem Community and always enthusiastic and happy to be part of it. 😊 Thank you for the support from your team all this while. Without the immense support, we have no fuel to move forward too 😃
STEEM on!

@cryptokannon You are doing an amazing job. Keep it up. We all want to take Steem to the moon. And with great effort from people like you, we can achieve that.

@cryptokannon, you have been in incredible leader to myself, and many in this community. Your answers are always honest, frank and full of an openness that helps others want become an active part of the community. I am grateful for all your contributions to the Steemit community as a whole, and your collaboration with #thediarygame. I've learned a lot about the platform by getting involved in this challenge, and meeting many others as well who I look forward to getting to know in the next game!

There is no doubt that the 100daysofsteem is a success. If we compare the gensis with the revelation, there is a wide gap between them. If we talk about the rating, it's a 5 star. The percentage of the success is above 300% looking at the number of participants today. No one can say otherwise. The steemit team did a lot of work. The implementation of different ideas brought about the enormous breakthrough. The diary game was the hit of the moment. I wish every steemian well for staying around. Great work by the steemit team. More power to your elbow.

Thank you for your great support.

I appreciate your support more. Thank you

Feliz noche!! :) SALUDOS...

We are happy so many people in Venezuela have taken part in the 100 Days challenges and games.

There is still The Shopping Game running every day.

And later today we will be posting our plans for what comes after the 100 Days.

Thank you

Hi @steemitblog team

Undoubtedly you guys have done marvelous work to bring the community together and participate in various contests. Ofcourse #thediarygame was the great success and to me it this entire journey of 100 days was awesome. I hope you guys will bring it back with even better programs and you know that Community is with you.
Thank you.

Congratulations on the many successful projects, especially #thediarygame
I feel it’s wonderful that you have started many new promotions and designed them around Recruitment, Retention and Rewards. I think the 300 new sign-ups is a great outcome, and this gain suggests the program will continue to grow.

@shortsegments

Great review of work output in the 100 days of Steem. We congratulate all Curating Team and POD Members for their selfless effort to throughout this journey. We also that all the Steemit Team, @steemitblog and @steemcurator01 for all the incentive package of rewards shown us. Some of us have really enjoyed these graces by kind courtesy of your support. As we bring the curtains down for season 1, we anticipate a successful preparation toward season two too. I hope every Country too is organising his team to meet the season 2 challenge.
