Keylo's Wavy Party Set to be Salt Lake City's Biggest Local Artist Event of the Year

With such a thriving and rapidly growing Electronic Dance Music scene in Salt Lake City, it was only a matter of time before someone decided to take a huge leap forward and host a single-night event solely dedicated to showcasing local artists at a massive venue. That's exactly what Salt Lake City local DJ KEYLO has done with his event, the Wavy Party, set to take place on Saturday, September 22nd, at the Riverbend Sports & Events Complex. The Riverbend Sports & Events Complex has previously been home to local festivals like Bloom and Naughty or Nice, each bringing thousands of people to the venue for multiple nights of great music and dancing to big headliners and local artists alike.

As described on the Facebook event page, the Wavy Party is set to bring "different styles of music for everyone to vibe to" and features the diverse sounds of a handful of Salt Lake City's hottest local up-and-coming artists. On the roster for the event are Chronik Fuzion, Chayboss, Blind Owl, DJ Logik, Coo Coo Cachoo, CXLXRADX, MuZak, Blistix, and of course, KEYLO himself. When asked about his decision-making process in selecting the artists for the event, KEYLO said that he "knows that the bass music community in Salt Lake City is huge, but [he] wanted to bring some diversity for the event to try to bring more people who enjoy other styles of music, too."

KEYLO also mentioned that while the event features artists who are well known for their involvement in the local rave scene, he doesn't "see it as a rave, but really more like a huge house party with DJs providing a wide variety of musical sounds." KEYLO has been involved in the Salt Lake City party scene for many years, gaining popularity initially through throwing house parties over the years before moving into throwing events at warehouses, with his most popular warehouse party back in April, "Who's KEYLO," at the now-defunct venue The Know Where House.

After gaining widespread popularity over the years, it only makes sense now that KEYLO is making big leaps and strides by graduating from warehouse parties and throwing a massive party at a venue which is more commonly associated with huge music festivals, the Riverbend Sports & Events Complex. While it remains to be seen if his huge gamble will pay off, KEYLO is confident that this is the right move forward for him and he hopes that the people of Salt Lake City will support him in this next step.

Hard-copy tickets for the Wavy Party are currently available for $20 from KEYLO or the other DJs on the lineup, and a discount is available for students who can provide their student ID.
