Hello lovely steemians

I'm glad to be part of this week’s cooking contest, as it's actually my first cooking recipe I'll be sharing today. Thanks to @sabbirrr and others organizers of this contest.

I'll like to share my cooking experience on how to prepare crispy fried yam with The steemit city community members. It's one of the most popular snack in Nigeria. Its loved by everyone as is highly nutritious in fibre, potassium, magnesium and antioxidants. The best part of this recipe is that is easy to prepare and is ready to eat in 30mins. It can be eaten with, tomatoe stew, tomatoe ketchup and even vegetable sauce

RECIPE: Crispy fried yam 😍

INGREDIENTS
▪︎1/2kg yam
▪︎Vegetable oil
▪︎1/2 tsp salt
▪︎1/2 bulb onion

PROCEDURE;
First peel the yam and slice them into tiny slices, put in a bowl and wash properly

Put the washed yam in a seive to drain off excess water before frying it. Add a pinch of salt to taste and toss the yam in the sieve, for even distribution of the salt on the yam

Turn on the gas and place frying pan, add vegetable oil and allow to heat up, then add some slices of onions, to give it a sweet and nice aroma

Now put the sliced yam into the fry pan, allow to fry for 1min and turn the yam continuously untill it turns golden-brown and you see the yam is becoming cripsy

Place a paper towel on a try and remove the ready yam and put on the towel, to remove excess ready.

Walaaaa... our crispy fried yam is ready 😋

It can be served with tomato ketchup, or tomato stew ( i ate mine with both)
