This is an excellent way to exemplify what the word cost really means, @tarazkp. In Venezuela, my country, the packet of cigarettes is worth much more than a month's salary, and here they do what you explain: they break the box to sell each cigar individually. This way, the seller has more, because he sells it by the unit. The same goes for beer and liquor. Retail is more expensive than per box. If we could save, if we could invest the money that is spent daily in superfluous things or vices, we could surely buy other more important things. I think it is part of an unspirited and very wasteful mentality. Happy Friday.
