▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Hey, Steemit/3Speak! This is my first video posted on 3Speak. The video platforms have all been remarkably innovative over the last couple years. Like most on Steemit, I advanced the platform after the @dlive controversy. @dtube has been doing great things and is still my default decentralized video platform, but @exyle has been posting his VLOG’s on 3Speak so I was intrigued enough to log in and try my first video on the platform. The upload is at 30%, so I thought I’d write a few words about the video.

This is a brief look at my editing process. A few months ago, I shot with a beautiful Minneapolis based model named Bailee. She found me through Instagram, surprised to be in the same city, and we booked a day for our shoot together. This is the quintessential dark pinup shoot I’m known for. Diegetic lighting. That means only the light that is available in the room. In this case, candles and warm lamps. It creates a moody effect, but also raised issues, most of which have to be addressed in Photoshop.

This video shares some of my secrets for adjusting or “fixing” the complex lighting arrangements, including how to punch the subject from a dark background, bringing the viewer’s eye to where you want their attention. Also, some techniques in patching skin irregularities. Something that does happen with such an usual lighting style. I just investing in audio recording equipment for these videos. I’d love some feedback on how it all sounds. Thanks for watching! Follow me @kommienezuspadt for more!

Shadowbanning from overly prude (mostly) American companies basically ruins the whole experience. Really curious what the project is you're hinting at here :-) Thanks for sharing your process, it's always great to see someone at work as that mostly happens behind closed (digital) doors.

Yeah, @soyrosa. It really sucks. As I said in the video, I deleted Facebook just before the new year, but Instagram, though a Facebook company, did bring a lot of value to my life and career. That's all changing now as they're acting more like a Facebook company than ever. My pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed it. As I get a few things in order, I'll be releasing more on the secret project :)

Wh00p! Can't wait.

Yes, Instagram being taken over by Facebook wasn't my idea of an ideal situation either :-/ The problem is I'm brainstorming on how to launch a new product (hand-felted scarfs) and it's hard to do without platforms like Facebook/Instagram. So I sort of am looking at Instagram again to launch my product on anyway :-/

Australia and New Zealand really? Amazing places I know your job takes you places really and well I'm definitely glad to have you on 3speak, it's a brilliant platform really and your photoshop session is awesome, it's the first time I'm seeing your video, it's always photography. Glad to have you around here.

First of all welcome to threespeak 🤗, I am pleased that you share the way you retouch your good captures, I am your first subscriber and that pleases me because I know you will have many within a very short time, a big greeting 🤗

This post earned a total payout of 8.960$ and 6.737$ worth of author reward which was liquified using @likwid. To learn more.

I will have a look through it (it is late) tomorrow as I am very interested to see how you edit these works. Hope you add more of these as you go so I can learn :)

The initial 3Speak experience was pretty good, @tarazkp. There's a cost associated with using the service. I think it was 24.000 STEEM for a month, and I'm assuming that scale changes with the current cost of STEEM, but they handled, uploaded and encoded a 2.5GB 36 minute video well. I'll probably jump between 3Speak and @dtube [...@dtube is my preference, still], but I love seeing new projects on the STEEM blockchain. Enjoy the video when you get a chance to watch it.

I think that having two (more the better) video platforms serve as a great funnel into Steem and hopefully they will start getting shared out to other platforms as content links also. I have wanted to try video but I am not great in front of the camera. :)

I've been using 3Speak also, in my latest two posts and I am enjoying it very much :D The process is seamless and my videos have had zero issues with uploading, which I can't say for dtube or dlive ...

It's nice to see your process through the video, Lars! A lot of creativity and attention to details are not as transparent when we only present our final versions of artworks... A process video or step by step presentation helps others to understand what's behind the scenes! :D

Hi Lars, how are you doing? It was great to be able to watch your first video. Of course, more pictures can be found there. Everything is truly extraordinary. Your model also looks very beautiful and has a interesting tattoo. Have a nice day, sir.

well it's not that hard leaving someone but it seems kind of lonely and sad.

also I don't think Facebook can give you something, it's just that many people see your post.

by the way nice photoshot.
