The one video on the HONG KONG PROTESTS you need to see
I’ve just returned home from almost a week in Hong Kong covering the biggest protests in the world.
What are the Hongkongers protesting?
There was a Chinese extradition bill which was suspended by the territory’s chief executive, Carrie Lam, in mid-June, but protesters want it officially withdrawn. In addition to demanding Lam’s resignation, the protesters are calling for:
- The complete withdrawal of the proposed extradition bill
- The government to withdraw the use of the word “riot” concerning the protests
- The unconditional release of arrested protesters and charges against them dropped
- An independent inquiry into police behaviour
- Implementation of genuine universal suffrage
In summary, the people of Hong Kong are fighting for their freedom and democracy. Hong Kong has been protesting for twelve weeks so far. Protests still manage to rally 1.7 million people.
My prediction: The Hong Kong protest movement isn’t going anywhere until their very reasonable demands are met.
I’ve never seen anything like this. One in about eight Hongkongers took to the streets and not one Police officer in sight. In fact, the only time I witnessed any violence was when the police hit the streets too.

It’s very cool that you were there. Where I live there is a major lack of coverage by the mainstream media. I’m grateful that there are people like you who keep bringing needed attention to the Hong Kong crisis.

Today's societies are more demanding, thanks to the globalization of communications and knowledge, it is now more difficult for the authoritarian to remain in power.
In Venezuela, we also have a political, social and, above all, economic crisis, we have repeatedly demonstrated it in a peaceful and violent manner, and the government has dissolved the demonstrations using the same old tactics.
This tactic is: blame the American empire, discredit the leaders of the protests or buy the opposition leaders and create terror in the population by killing civilians or soldiers who rebel.
