TIL: Some people believe the Larimar stone comes from Atlantis, the lost city.steemCreated with Sketch.

My father once tried to give me a Larimar necklace, I ended up wearing only the silver collar and saving the stone to look at.

It's not that I didn't think the stone was beautiful, but I didn't think it was good for me because to this day I have never seen a more feminine stone.

It has a very soothing sky blue color that can also be found in the Caribbean sea. In researching this stone because I've been wanting to do business with it, I tried to find out whether there were any local stories about this gem and that's how I came to the story of Atlantis.

Why would the people there, if the place ever existed, ever want to use this rock?

Maybe they just had a lot of it. Or maybe it was good for reflecting light indoors.

Apparently some Edgar Cayce prophet dude said something about a blue stone from Atlantis being discovered in the Caribbean, so far this stone can only be found in Dominican Republic.

From what I read the rarity is due to the volcanic conditions in the area.

I know there are those who believe stones can have an effect in humans. It's difficult for me to believe this because I would expect we would be able to replicate this enough to collect more data on it, but anyways...what I take from reading on it can be resumed to it being helpful with anxiety.

Maybe my father wasn't so wrong in giving me the color, it is undeniable colors have an effect in us. I've just never been a fan of jewelry, I think it can be very dangerous. I don't wear a tie because why would I want for someone to be able to pull a knot around my neck? Call me paranoid...

Having the stone make background for a wrist watch (calm anxiety when stressing over time), or buttons for clothing, that's the only way I would buy it aside from reselling it for a little profit.

But what if we're making bracelets from the walls of Atlantis?!

There is little description of how Atlantis would look like but Plato wrote it was mostly red, that color usually just means iron, this case is no exception.

Blue tends to be associated to men, males are usually dressed in blue when they are younger but at some point boys were dressed in pink and it was girls that were made to wear blue because it was believed to be more feminine.

I don't know if these rumors are created to increase sales, but this rock sells itself and myths are known for having some truth in them.

Saluton ! Kia belega ŝtono ! Mi neniam aŭdis pri ĝi. Mi vidas la ondojn de la maro en ĝi, ja jes de Atlantis.

Jes, ja estas la genia universala lingvo ! Provu google translate !

It's very similar to latin so I understand some of being being a native Spanish speaker. There was one thing google couldn't translate to my satisfaction. Here's what I get:

Hello! What a beautiful stone! I never heard of it. I see the waves of the sea in it, do it from Atlantis.

I don't understand the last part which is translating to "do it", I don't see how it makes sense. Very interesting this language, I had never seen it being used before.

So I am continuing in English. The last sentence: "...yes, yes, from Atlantis" In Esperanto we got two yes, a German and an English one. We use both to emphasize something. Google translate is still machine made, but Esperanto is the best language to translate and serves as translation tool between two languages. If you want to find out more about Esperanto, please check my early articles on steemit.
Ĝis revido !

Larimar happens to be one of my favorite go to stones for calming vibes and to enjoy a peaceful meditation.

It's very relaxing to look at, yes.

Beautiful color! Even more so than lapis lazuli.

Very interesting. Peace

Very interesting your blog dear friend @ tommycordero I'm going to follow your publicity closely, I like your work. Congratulations
