A Road Trip to Azalea
Me and my wife @zenfernandez invited our friend, Lilian to go for an out of town road trip last Sunday in Azalea, San Jose, Negros Oriental. My wife and I decided that it would be nice to talk about our newly joined team #steemunityph, a social media platform under #Steemit so we did not waste much time and we go. I also thought that it would be a good idea to go out once in a while to get away with such a mundane and routine week that my life has become and need the breather to get out of this toxic and stressful day in the city life.
Introducing #steemit to our friends at Azalea
I also tag my other friend, Perl to come along with us who also happens to have a motorcycle and lives in San Jose. We drove away up to the mountain as Perl’s motorcycle laboriously churns it’s 110cc engine power that’s barely keeping up with our XRM’s 125cc engine that’s built for dirt and high roads and is very good for outdoors. We drift over winding roads and some that are near to a cliff overlooking to the other side of the mountain. It’s not advisable to drive a motorcycle if you don’t have much experience driving especially in steep roads and narrow roads.
As we got up there, we met the owner, Mr. and Mrs. Armogena who warmly greeted us as we settled in the west wing portion like it’s perfectly reserved for us. The four of us settled in as the adorable and cute Shi Tzu pup ran towards us and played with us.
Azalea Mountain Inn also known as Azalea Casitas, Nestled in the middle of the forest, Azalea offers such a great picturesque mountain view that you can ever find here in Negros Oriental. You can have the nature view of the lush and verdant forest of San Jose with the overlooking view of the sea at the east. It’s a perfect combination destination for travelers, nature lovers , bloggers and many other people of all kinds.
They also have affordable meals and snacks that suites everyone’s budget. Though their food and services are not impeccable, it’s more or less than average depending on the situation but mostly just below the standards of big restaurants and hotel services and food compared to the city.
Nonetheless, the thing is it’s definitely a safe haven for introverts and writers who wants to be alone in their own world where their imagination could run freely while enjoying the view. It’s a 30-40 minute drive from Dumaguete City going up to the mountain. It’s best to travel there with motorcycles to really enjoy the majestic view of the mountain top. The mountain breeze and the road right next to a cliff where you have to swerve perfectly adds more adventure to your destination.
The only thing that makes this little restaurant exceptional is the view and the ambiance. The place itself is so relaxing and just good for someone who wants to sit down, relax and have a cup of coffee and just enjoy the scenery that nature could offer. If you’re tired of the day-today and hustle and bustle in the city and don’t have enough budget to get out of town, this is the perfect place for you.
Looking forward for more individuals who would be interested in joining our movement.
