Secrets for Toning Up

Don't rely on just cardio or just weights! If you want to develop good muscle tone, you

have to do both resistance and cardio training. Movements that engage multiple muscle

groups at once are very effective. The Squat Curl-Press is one great exercise that will

tone the legs, shoulders, core and biceps all in one move. I'm also a big fan of body

weight exercises such as; pushups, pull ups and dips. Take a look at my Exercise Library

for some strength training/toning ideas. For tone without mass; light but challenging

weights and higher repetitions are best. If you want to bulk up and tone, use heavier

weights and fewer reps. Cardio training is also necessary because it burns calories,

sheds excess fat and helps develop muscle. Check out this link for some great cardio moves

that will help you tone while you get your heart rate up. Don't forget, eating a healthy

diet plays a large role in achieving your fitness goals.
