Ana Santiso, first artist who registers and tokenizes works of art in the Ardor blockchain

in #tokenization6 years ago

Tarasca DAO have made our first experience of registration and tokenization of works of art in the blockchain. Five of the physical paintings that will illustrate our collection of cards “Mythical Creatures of the World” have already been registered in Ardor, and each of them has a token that represents them in the digital world.

The paintings are hand-made by Ana, using the technique of watercolor on paper. Its dimensions are 12.5 cm by 13 cm, except one that is 12 by 13 cm.
The registration of the works serves as proof of authorship and possession by Ana, as it publicly demonstrates her possession of the works at a date prior to any possible supplanter. The blockchain, public and immutable registry of data, distributed in hundreds of computers throughout the world, is the most reliable record that exists in the current situation, impossible to censor or modify by anyone. The authorship is, then, demonstrated for all purposes.

The registry also specifies the license under which the author’s intellectual property rights are protected. In this case, Ana has decided to register them under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported license (CC BY-NC 3.0).

The tokenization of these physical works allows their circulation in the digital medium. The five paintings can now easily be transmitted, sold or auctioned in a comfortable, fast and cheap way, with the assurance that they are authentic works and not counterfeits.

The registration and tokenization of each card has cost a total of 0.145 € (0.005 € registration, 0.14 € creation of the token).

The paintings correspond to a legendary creature from each continent.
Tulpar, a winged horse that appears in the Turkic people.
Macihuatli, a sinister monster with the shape of a woman and the head of a horse, terror of men in Nahuatl language cultures.
Kel Essuf, the desert spirits that stalk the Tuaregs.
Lisovik, the lord of the forests in Ukraine and other Slavic peoples.
Droemerdene, protector deity of the people for the aborigines of the island of Tazmania.

The records and tokens of these works can be monitored publicly in the following links:

In the next few days we will be publishing the images of these five cards, as well as an explanation of the creatures and cultures that give them existence.
