Delicacy 01: Experience in Toronto 1st Cheese Cake Factory! It's a patience challenge!!

in #toronto6 years ago

It was a Saturday weekend. Me and my girlfriend were planning to go for the Cheesecake Factory in Yorkdale Mall for a long time. Knowing it is going to be jam pack later on in the evening especially the weekend! We decided to skip lunch and go for an early dinner. It was 3:30 pm and there's already a long lineup.

Lineup for Cheesecake Factory.jpg

That's right they are all lineup for Cheesecake!

There are several steps you need to go thru in order to get your table! The initial lineup is only for you to make an appointment with the receptionist, who stood outside the restaurant, to get the restaurant pager. The receptionist asked for our name and told us to come back in an hour to get the pager from her. Yes, you have to wait for the pager first!

We tried our luck and came back in around 30 minutes later to see if we could get our pager earlier. We did get it. Then the next step would just need to wait for them to page us. Man! That was a long wait!! I forgot how long we had wait till the pager blink. All we remembered was we were so tired ...

But wait ... we were not getting the table yet. We were just going in the restaurant to give the pager back to the front desk. We would then wait for the front desk to call us up once there's table available. That was another 15 - 25 minutes wait. Finally when we got our table, it was 6:00 pm. Two and a half hours waiting time .... This is my record high!!

The restaurant is using the same concept design as other Cheesecake Factory restaurants in USA.

We shared the Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes as appetizer!

I ordered the Lasagna Verde !!

My girlfriend ordered the Pasta Carbonara !!

We enjoyed every dish! The appetizer was creamy, sour and sweet! Good that we only shared this one, otherwise it would be quite heavy as a starter for a single person. Both pasta were very delicious and very cheesy. We wanted to try the cheesecake but we were just too full!

We decided to get some cheesecakes to take home! Stupid us that we thought we have to order the take out on the cheesecake counter, we should have just ordered from the server. When we went over the counter, she asked us for the name and told us there will be an hour waiting time for the take out .....

After this experience, I still recommend to everybody! The food is just too good to resist and the price is decent! My suggestion is go at the week days, will probably still need to wait an hour for the table. But comparatively, it's not as bad. However, you won't need to wait for the take out in week days for sure. Cause I went back to buy the cheesecake the other day.
