I think there is a lot to be learned by graham norton's stage intelligence for every performer in the world. First of all, he is working hard about his guests. What project they are working on at the time, the projects they were working on earlier, the people they work with on those projects, and so on. I see very rarely that he looks at the cards in his hand; it adds to the air of a conversation. In Turkey, for example, in Beyaz show or in Bayülgen's shows they constantly change issues with their hand cards; or studio assistants have a struggle to get a tip about the guests. If they are not talking to the guests, their eyes are constantly on the cards, which seems to treat the guest in a artificial manner and obviously they do not like it. I think that Graham works well, that it is so comfortable on the stage and that it is so great effect that the theater academy is out of the way so that it can be improvised and ready to answer.
Graham norton is a man who is often on the brink of his guests, but who can entertain his guests because he does not have an agenda to overcome his purposeful environment, while at the same time enjoying himself as much as his guests. You may feel like you are welcomed by friends who are sitting in a bar and chatting with you while you are watching, the guests who have already come to the program have a drink they want in front of you, everyone is comfortable, everyone is laughing.
