Meugang, Tradition of Meat Meat with Acehnese Welcomes Ramadan

Banda Aceh - Acehnese people have a special tradition of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. Two days before the fast, the people of Tanah Rencong buy the oxen or buffalo for cooking, then eaten together. this tradition has been going on since 400 years ago.

The price of meat sold on day meugang or madmeugang jumped dramatically. If the usual Rp 130,000 to Rp 140,000 then on the day meugang to Rp 150,000 to Rp 170,000. although quite expensive, but it does not matter to the people of Tanah Rencong. The reason, far days before meugang residents have prepared themselves to buy meat according to ability.
