Translator pool and idea for synergetic translation fees

in #translation8 years ago (edited)

I've been reading with interest Steemit publications about translations and new forms of translation rewards, and they inspired the following idea.

First, ideally we would need some form of smoothly working software platform for language pairs, translators and their contact and reputation information etc., and I'm far from up-to-date from technical aspects and development. Any and all information about this aspect would be wellcome. Semi-independent/external translation co-op could be also worth a thought.

Here's the basic idea: Steemit translators offer their services to clients from Steemit community and general public with very competitive standard rates per character etc. measurement of text in Steemit tokens (which exactly?) AND some amount of royalties of rewards from Steemit publication. The royalty percentage could be relatively less for a client committing to publish the the translated work exclusively on Steemit for a certain period of time.

Synergies: work opportunities for Steem translators, more demand for Steem tokens from clients, more content, more users.

For example, indie game developer in language A wants to promote and hype also in language B the B-localized version. The client contracts Steemit translators for both localization of the game and translations of the promotional videos etc., that are initially published exclusively on Steemit, where also the client can also earn Steem to cover promotion and translation costs.

AND, soon enough, the next hypiest coolest ever indie MMORPG economy, both internally and externally, uses only STEEM. :)

(...and, soon enoug, STEAM starts accepting STEEM too ;))
