Abolitionist Abstractions Vlog 64: From ectasy to anquish in less than 12 hours...
Here is today's vlog! It's been a whirlwind since we last recorded one of these. It's only been a bit over a day, but it seems like forever ago! Murder Dog and I woke up yesterday morning at that Planet Fitness in Iowa, I got a shower, and we hit the road again to finish our journey to Sioux Falls. After another 5 or so hours of driving, we finally arrived!
We got to Sioux Falls early enough to head over to the offices of yourbestaddress.com to retrieve my new phone (which had been awaiting my instructions to be forwarded), and while I was there I made sure that I had everything necessary for my new SD drivers license and registration. With all of that taken care of, we headed off to our campsite for the night so I could get a receipt needed to acquire the aforementioned license. We had a nice night, got a decent amount of sleep, and then headed off to get that license!
The experience with SD's version of the DMV was worlds better than such experiences in the DPRNY. I was in and out in under 15 minutes with my new license, and now I'm officially a SD resident!. After that task was finally accomplished, we headed off to see the Falls and plan the rest of our journey back east. Unfortunately there were internet issues, a moment of rage, and a damaged windshield to follow. Now we're spending the night somewhere in Minnesota, where we luckily managed to end up within a couple of miles of a Safelite Auto Glass. Even luckier, the damage is covered by my insurance so all this will cost us is a little time. Even when things go very, very wrong, they seem to have a way of working out!

well done bro, very nice article
Thanks. The video was supposed to be the centerpiece but I ended up writing more than I had planned.
nice video
Thanks. I've been doing a series of these chronicling my new life as a van nomad.
Nice that you are tuning into the universe wavelength. More synchronicity and serendipity to come. You will know you have fine tuned when delight occurs along with negative occurrences. Soon you will notice this stuff seems to happen for a reason and the complaining will subside. Allow happiness and contentment will increase. Enjoy!
Yeah, man. Bad things keep happening but they are quickly followed up by solutions that seem to present out of nowhere. I'm just going to keep rolling with it. Even with my fit of anger yesterday, I am worlds happier out here on the road than I have been for years (with the exception of being around my kids) in New Yorkistan. I'll still complain, because that's what I do, but even that had become less and less. I do love this life. :)
I've got two windshield cracks radiating from a spot where a rock probably hit my windshield. I've noticed they get longer and longer with passing time. So far not obstructing my vision. Probably not safe though to be driving with a cracked windshield.
Yeah, mine would probably hold for a while but they are in my field of vision already. Plus, it seemed just a little too perfect that where I stopped happened to have a Safelite Auto Glass within 4 miles. I'll lose some time today, but that's about it.
