If you are traveling from Islamabad to Lahore or Lahore to Islamabad via motorway, you can reach it. Lahore-Islamabad motorway is around 375 KM so you need to around travel 200 KM to reach Salt mines.
Around 300,000 People visit these Salt mines on yearly basis which is rough estimate.
History
Below Picture is the history which is in urdu and i will translate in English !!
In 326 BC Sikandar Azam & Raja Poras was fighting a war with each other near Jehlum river. Sikandar Azam’s horses found licking the rocks and thus everyone came to know about the Rock Salt deposits in this area. Since then mining was starting from this place. It was one of the most important Salt reserves. Its length 300 KM and width 8 to 30 Km. Height is around 2200 ft to 4900 ft. From 1949 after arrival of British they started mining in scientific manner.
In 1872 Dr. Warth British Mining Engineer laid out the main tunnel at ground level to have an easy and direct access to the salt deposits. The method of mining introduced by Dr. Warth is still in practice. It has 17 underground Floors. Only 50% of salt is taken from the working seam while the remaining 50% is left there as Pillars for support the mine.
Only upper floors are accessible to tourist.
This is the main entrance of the Mines, we reached there late so unable to enjoy the electronic ride and had to walk for almost 15 minutes.
There were some caves as well which was filled with water and giving very interesting effects!!!

Some Man made places and one artificial small lake was also there...
Another Horror Movie Cave !!!
People were making many picture with this man made sort of building and it was one of the main tourist attraction.
There was one mosque as well where my friend prayed and i took picture of him.
All in all it was good place to visit. Many foreigners also visit there. It can be more better but as of now it is one of the historical place if you visit Pakistan.
Hope you like my blog and give me up-votes :)
Thank you in Advance.

Hello @adnanibrahim, Nice to meet you!
I'm a guide dog living in KR community. I can see that you want to contribute to KR community and communicate with other Korean Steemians. I really appreciate it and I'd be more than happy to help.
KR tag is used mainly by Koreans, but we give warm welcome to anyone who wish to use it. I'm here to give you some advice so that your post can be viewed by many more Koreans. I'm a guide dog after all and that's what I do!
Tips:
Unfortunately, Google Translate is terrible at translating English into Korean. You may think you wrote in perfect Korean, but what KR Steemians read is gibberish. Sorry, even Koreans can't understand your post written in Google-Translated Korean.
I sincerely hope that you enjoy Steemit without getting downvotes. Because Steemit is a wonderful place. See? Korean Steemians are kind enough to raise a guide dog(that's me) to help you!
Woff, woff! 🐶
전혀이해가안돼!
Looks like an interesting place to see! It's neat to see how salt used to be mined. Cool salt carvings.
That reminds me of the salt mine disaster in Louisiana, in 1980, that actually drained Lake Peigneur.
