Shavlinsky lakes

The Shavlinsky lakes are very famous in the circles of people traveling around the Altai Mountains, this is due to the unique nature of these places. Tours are conducted by travel companies from Biysk, Gorno-Altaisk, and even Novosibirsk. The departure point is the village of Chibit, located on the Chuiskoye tract.

The road is not much tiring, but the landscapes on the sides, compensate for the effort expended hundreds of times. Magnificent views of the Shavlinsky lakes gave any photographer and artist inspiration. The forest in this area is partially absent. The reserve rules are in effect on the territory of the lakes, as rare animal species live here.

All the way to the lakes takes about 70 kilometers. Most of the road passes at a vertical angle at an altitude of more than two kilometers. After that, our view shows the plateau of Eshtykol, from there we keep the direction to the valley of the river that flows out of the Lower Shavlinsky lake, and climb up it.

For tourists who are not accustomed to such a distance, there is an alternative-horse tour. But it is necessary to take into account that you can ride a horse everywhere. Inveterate same "walkers" can try themselves in routes that exceed the complexity described.
