Small lovely island close to Bangkok
Ko Si Chang is a small island near Bangkok (don't confuse it with Ko Chang island), it takes about 3 hours to get there by bus and boat.
It's not famous, but it's an easy getaway from the capital and I think it can be quite busy on weekends. So my bf and I visited it in one of weekdays.
What we liked is that Ko Si Chang doesn't have the "made-for-tourist" vibe of famous islands and it makes for a refreshing change of pace from the busy streets of Bangkok or the crowded beaches down south.
It was used as a summer palace for Thai royalty before, until it was occupied by the French in a struggle over the occupation of Laos. You can still walk around old palace grounds and enjoy its garden.
We also went up a hill to see Wat Asdang Khanimitr temple, that has Thai style pagoda and Gothic arch windows - looks interesting.
There is a sacred tree in front of the temple, which was planted by King Chulalongkorn from a sapling brought from Boddh Gaya in India by one of his Princes.
We also checked out beautiful Asdang Pier
And then we just rode around the island taking in the views until it got dark.
Then we found a basic room for the night near Taam Pang beach.
And when we woke up on sunrise we enjoyed perfectly still and clear water all alone. And with dramatic clouds in background.
All photos taken by me with Canon 550D 😉
Stay tuned for more photos of Thailand!😇
Those trees sure look like they possess something special, like some deep rooted wisdom thats been passed down thru generations!

If you want to visit it, don't go on Chinese new year, I hear it's super crowded at that time ;)
