Treasures in the South Pacific travel agent training to be held in Sydney and Canberra

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

Treasures of the South Pacific (TOSP) will organize a training event for travel agents in Sydney and Canberra, Australia next month. PR Accounts Manager Naomi Wheeler said TOSP is now inviting participants to register. “The training events will take place in Sydney on 2 August, 2016, followed by Canberra on 3 August, 2016,” she said in a statement. More than 17 destinations will come together to showcase the fascinating and contrasting holiday experiences on offer throughout the South Pacific.

TOSP is a not for profit organization comprising of the tourist bureaus from the South Pacific countries, which exists to support the travel industry with information they need to service their clients. TOSP is funded by South Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO) and Pacific Island Trade and Investment (PITI) for its operations.

Participating destinations include; Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Vanuatu and the lesser known treasures of Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, Tonga, Tuvalu, American Samoa, and Niue.

Travel agents will have the chance to walk away with some incredible prizes including a seven night trip to one of the South Pacific destinations, whilst also improving their product knowledge through informative seminars and networking with destination, product and operator representatives.
President of Treasures of the South Pacific, Kerryn Cook, said after the success of their first events in Melbourne and Hobart earlier this year they are looking forward to sharing some South Pacific warmth with their Sydney and Canberra friends.

“These events provide a valuable opportunity for destination representatives to catch-up with agents face to face and provide them with a deeper understanding of the differences and standout qualities of each destination,” Cook said in a statement.

“We hope agents will walk away with the tools and confidence they need to sell the South Pacific by tailoring the right experiences to their customers’ needs,” he added.

Registrations are now open for the Sydney and Canberra events via the website (www.tosp.com.au). The roadshow will move to Queensland in October with events scheduled in Brisbane on 11 October, 2016 and Sunshine Coast on 12 October, 2016. For further details on any of the events visit their website. Travel agents can also sign up and complete the South Pacific Tourism Organization online training platform to become a South Pacific Specialist at the following website, www.southpacificspecialist.org
