Fiskars - a village full of history

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Fiskars village is a small village from the 17th-hundred in southern Finland. The village is known for its Finnish art and design. You can find many beautiful restaurants and cafes and many cute shops.

Fiskars is also the name of one of the oldest companies in Finland and as you probably can guess, that company comes from this village. Fiskars is a iron #company that was founded in 1646 by a Dutch businessman named Peter Thorwöste. Fiskars is known for their scissors, knives and other iron products.

Today I went there for a short visit and you could see tourists starting to come there again for the season. The grass was getting green and the leaves on trees slowly coming out.

The Fiskars river was a important source for the business thanks to natural water power.
