Thailand: How bad is the rainy season?

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

The weather in rainy season is often windy and under these circumstances you can find your self in one of the islands beaches and do sailing and wind-surfing.

This is what a weather forecast usually looks like.

I know this looks pretty bad, but in fact only 1-2 days in a week will be a rainy..

You'll be surprised by the color of water in sunny days, extreme transparency, really beautiful like in high season!

Popular beaches don't look like in high season?

Well, at least you got so much empty space and relatively few tourists...

You know what's really cool in low season?

  • A glut of fruits (mangosteen, mango, lichi, watermelon..) they're giving for a song!
  • The road's empty, motorbikes are much cheaper than in high..
  • Hotels and houses for rent are cheaper too.
  • Absolutely incredible sunsets!

This is My First Low Season in the Land of Smiles and in spite of everything, I Definitely like it more than summer in the Homeland.

Sort:

I was in Phuket in the rainy season. Rain is not so often, mainly at night or in the morning. And fruits really cheap. Such dirty beaches thank God saw :)

Good read, be prepared for strong Raining Season! After months of El-Nino , we will have a lot rain. It's been raining here in Penang a lot lately!

Ahahha!! Anyway better than in Russia))))

One place I have never been to as yet and we love our long haul holidays. Wind has never put me off in fact it is often quite a virtue when temperatures are really high. What has put me off though is their crime and disgusting killing of domestic animals .
Sorry that's how I feel but your post was still very good
