The most Beautiful Christmas Market

No better feeling than a warm Glühwein during a very very cold Christmas day.
The first snow hit the Medieval city of Ghent and however the whole country was having problems because of the snow, I coudn't stop feeling a little happy seeing the landscapes turn snow white.

And with the snow, one of my favourite time of the year has finally arrived: The Christmas Market!

Yes Christmass in London is amazing, but there is just that little extra that makes me love the Christmas market at Ghent so much more. 

The medieval setting fits perfectly with the Christmas decor, it takes you back in time and makes your completely forget about modern technologies that usually distract you every minute of the day. Not only the setting is perfect but every inhabitant of Ghent looks forward to this period of the year. And nobody can hide how delighted they are to be there, just like little kids running around in a candy store. 

The Stallholders come from all over Europe and are as warm-hearted as the beautiful market itself. You'll find typical handcrafted winter items and a lot of delicious food stalls. From "raclette" to "hot coco" name it, it's there. I mean: I already went three times to the market last week just to try the different food-stalls, and I'm planning on doing exactly the same this week. :D 

Next to the amazing setting and market-stalls, there is a romantic skating rink and the ferris wheel that gives you a breathtaking view over the city. There are also great Christmas themed parties during the evening in the recreated "Chalets". A lot of students tend to come party here, to blow of some steam during this study period for the upcoming exams.
