Travel Seattle : Gas Works Park
The problem with living in a beautiful city is that sometimes you put off experiencing the unique sites your city has to offer. Unlike while traveling, you can easily justify not taking the time to explore your own city as it will always be available to you to do so in the foreseeable future. Well no more! It's time to see what this city has to offer!
Gas Works Park, Seattle
On this sunniest of days here in Seattle we took to Gas Works park to soak up a healthy dose of radiation. Gas Works gets its name from the old coal gasification plant that previously resided here. The process of gasification involves converting a crude material into a valuable, clean form of energy using controlled amounts of steam (sound familiar?). In 1975, the site was converted into a much coveted Seattle park overlooking Lake Union.
45th Stop N Shop & Poke Bar
Nearby, there's an amazing poke bowl shop that's disguised as a convenience store. The easiest way to find it is to look for the long line going out the door. It's strange to order amazing food from a place that sells cigarettes and energy drinks, but I can't recommend this place more. The poke comes with up to three types of fish, pickled veggies, seaweed, and crab salad.
