ROADTRIP TO AUSTRALIA

in #travel6 years ago

A year ago, I was traveling through the eastern part of Australia. Yes! From that great country, full of wild animals and paradisiacal places.

My brother went to live there a year ago and we decided with my mother that it was time to visit him. After spending a month traveling in a caravan with my family for fantastic places, I can say that it was one of the best trips of my life.

Australia became one of the destinations I would choose to spend some time in my life installed. Its lively nature and the receptivity of the locals, make me think about my time there quite often with much desire to return!

I will comment on the trip in general, the itinerary, and in the following posts I will go into detail of each place!

THE TRIP
Sydney - Port Mcquire - Byron Bay - Noosa Gold Coast - Mckay - Airlie Beach - Cairns - Port Douglas

We decided with my mother to visit my brother who was already living a couple of months ago in Sydney, more specifically in Bondi Beach: an incredible place, with a large Latin community. Where you can breathe the tranquility and peace, and you can perceive the good vibes of the area. With its open beaches and excellent waves to surf, it became one of our favorite places. In turn we toured other areas of Sydney, such as the city itself, Manly Beach and Bondi.

After that, we left for North Australia in a CamperVan, where we had everything: from sleeping to cooking and hanging out. Roadtrip mode ON!

Before everything else, it was time to see some Kangarous

With map in hand, we decided to go through Port Mcquire, a quiet town where we prefer to stop for a short time. Beaches, ghost streets and not many people for the return. We slept there and the next day we made our way back to our next destination: Byron Bay.

They had already told us that Byron Bay was one of the best cities on the east coast of Australia and indeed it was. It's like a little hippie town, to surf very nice. The good vibes of the place leave a pleasant sensation and you do not want to go!

A few days later we left for Noosa, before passing through the Gold Coast, visiting Surfers Paradise. We left a city impression on the beach, something like Miami or Punta del Este would be. More built than the places we had visited before and after.
We went through Lone Pine, a sanctuary for Koalas and typical animals north of Brisbane.

We arrived at Noosa, and it definitely became the most paradisiacal place of all: uninhabited beaches, with crystal blue water, and cliffs to its surroundings. Places that seemed like you discovered them yourself traveling. It was an incredible experience.

Next destination: McKay. Unlike the previous one, we did not like this place very much, there was not much to do either. So we decided to go the next day.

Continue to Airlie Beach, where you could do various activities and there were more tourists and movement. In turn, this town is the crossing point to the islands Withsundays, the most famous islands of Australia. White sand and turquoise water. I do not have words to express the satisfaction that that place generates me. Indescribable.

And culminating the trip, we left for Cairns, a tropical city in the north of Australia, where it is no longer highly recommended to get into the water because of its dangers (poisonous jellyfish, saltwater crocodiles, sharks). Usually nothing happens, but it was not the same anymore.
Due to this risk, the city has artificial pools on the side of the beaches where people lie down to sunbathe on the grass and cool in the water of the pools. Beautiful city with lots of movement, wet and tropical. But the beaches disappointed us!
However, we looked for spots where we could go and travel to desert places where we got the same, and I'll tell you where!

As a last destination, we met Port Douglas for the day, since that was where my brother was going to live. Very nice area, small but friendly, with remains and very nice pubs.

We returned to Sydney to leave for Uruguay, once again visiting the incredible city and going out to know it in depth, and in the process learn a bit about its architecture.

I hope to return again either to visit or to live a time there, and to be fascinated with the country, its places, its people.

I hope you like it and I am here to answer any questions you may have about this destination that I believe is capable of advising.
I was publishing destiny by destination with the activities that I did in more detail in case it interests.

Regards,
Cata
