Children's park in the former cemetery

One of the smallest parks in Samara is named after the red commander N. A. Shchors, who died in Ukraine but was buried in Samara. He was buried at the "Vsekhsvyatskoye" cemetery, in whose territory the park is now located. In 1926, the "Vsekhsvyatskoye" cemetery was closed. Nobody took care of him for many years, and the burial site of Shchors was lost, as the graves of the mother of the singer Fyodor Shalyapin, the mother of the writer Alexei Tolstoy, and other famous people in Samara were lost here. In 1934, the cemetery was built up. In 1949, after a long search, the burial place was found, and the remains were reburied in the city cemetery of Samara.

In 1953, on the site of the Orthodox "Vsekhsvyatskoye" cemetery, a park was opened, which was named in honor of the hero of the civil war Nikolay Shchors.

In the mid-1970s, the leadership of the Kuibyshev railway. decided to build a children's railway, but since the land belongs to the city, it was impossible to build it without the consent of the city authorities. But for some incomprehensible reason, the city authorities did not want to do this. The long altercation ended in a compromise - the city allows the construction of DSB, but according to their project. When the management of the road saw this project, it simply became horrified and refused to participate. The mayors decided to finish the job and built them in the park. Shchorsa, which is 5-7 minutes walk from the station, is a wonderful object - a ringlet with a diameter of 50 meters, not a single arrow and one single platform.
After several years of operation, the driver began to feel dizzy from riding in a circle and the management of the train began to be carried out from the electrical cabinet on the edge of the platform. The most interesting thing was the process of stopping the train - the “engineer” turned off the main switch, ran up to the approaching train on the platform and grabbed the brake lever .

The memorial sign was installed to the 55th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, in honor of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, who live in the Zheleznodorozhny district. On the memorable sign 11 Heroes of the Soviet Union and one full gentleman of the Order of Glory.

At one time, the park was going to open a monument to Czech legionnaires who died in Samara in 1918. The Czech legionaries are a military corps led by General Chechik, who was in Samara from June to October 1918. They fought against the Bolsheviks and played a big role in the events of 18 years. Many consider them to be involved in the looting and killing of civilians.
But the final decision has not yet been made.
