BOOMTOWN MUSIC FESTIVAL 2017 With Fellow STEEMIANS!! (Part 4) – Hidden Gems of the festival + video of the Wild West Borough
This put me in mind of the TV series Westworld, actually creeped me out a bit when I got that thought into my head.
I found a behind the scenes video from 2015 of the Wild West site. There have been a few changes since then but this is still WAY worth a look. It is pretty much how you see it in this video.
Boomtown is so special not only because of the amazing line up and main stages but also the hidden gems that are all around you waiting to be discovered. Every year, whenever the festival is over the vast crew get to work designing and building props and stages for the following year. The ticket money all goes back into making the next Boomtown more jaw dropping than the last.
In this post I’ll be showing you the amazing attention to detail that went into The Wild West borough.
As I mentioned in my first Boomtown post The festival is split up into different Burroughs, each with their own main stage, smaller stages, storylines and hidden artwork, actors that engage with you and festival goers who’ve created their own alter ego.
This is a desciption of what your likely to see/ hear when you enter The Wild West
Here are some pics and information about The Wild West area. Look at the attention to detail!
This is the entrance, once you walk in the immersive atmosphere takes you back to gunslingers, whisky bars and spitoons
Here is the Crazy Calamities bar/ stage. If you look close you will see a cryptic message on the door. This is left for the people who are following The Hackers, a secret rebellion of Boomtown folk who are fighting against the evil Bang Hai Industries who are taking over Boomtown and gentrifying it. This is the main storyline of the festival (please see previous posts for more detail on that)
Here are some actors that work throughout the festival, fighting, drinking and generally being cowboys. They will take any opportunity to bring you in to their storyline too which is fun.
Here is a picture of the sun setting on another day over The Saddle Sores Salloon
