7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #29 – winner announcement!
@best-trip-eva Asian Sunday entry:
Sunrise at Mt. Rinjani (3,726 meters or 12,224 ft). This is the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Mt. Agung - the highest volcano on Bali island, which recently erupted - is visible on the back-right. All three of the Gili Islands can be seen before it. On the left side in the clouds the perfect cone shape of Rinjani is visible. The picture was taken the end of August 2017 and the trekking of the volcano was the highlight of my journey in Indonesia.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #29 – winner announcement!
@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:
On my first visit to New Zealand I spent a night in downtown Auckland. Early in the morning I made my way to a bridge from where I could overlook the skyline and some interesting intersections below. With a longtime exposure I could create a nice effect for the photo.

@ombrue Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:
Lhoknga is one of the best coastal areas in the greater Aceh face to the Indian Ocean. Therefore Lhoknga is one of the best sunset locations in Aceh. Almost every day and especially on Sunday crowded young people who come to enjoy and capture the sunset in Lhoknga. One of them is Sunset Surf Cafe which is a cafe directly opposite to the sunset.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #29 – winner announcement!
@jpphotography African Wednesday entry:
This dune looks amazing - until you attempt to climb it! The sand makes it really hard to lift your feet and the strong winds are not improving the situation. However, the view from the top of this dune in the Moroccan Sahara totally made up for that and watching the colours of the majestic dunes slowly change during golden hour was one of the most amazing sunsets I have seen on my travels!

Saint-Tropez is a city in France roughly 60 miles west of Nice on the French Riviera. Before the 20th Century, this was a quiet fishing village, but after WWII, it became a chic hot spot for jet setting tourists who wanted a tan on the world famous beaches. I missed the summer fun here, but visited in mid-October to catch a beautiful autumn sunset on the beach last year.
Edinburgh at Sunset, Scotland
I made my way to the top of Calton Hill, one of the main hills overlooking the city. Calton Hill was planned to be a monument to soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars, but money ran out and it was never completed. It’s difficult to imagine now, but for years, the hill was seen as an embarrassment to the city, known as “Edinburgh’s Shame.”
Nowadays, no one views the hill as an embarrassment. Attempts to turn it into a commercialised tourist attraction mercifully failed. It’s ruggedly beautiful and from the top of Calton Hill, I had views of the entire city.
Wow! Just epic! Well done!
Talking about stars... Probably the most powerful experience as a landscape photographer for me personally is a night starry skies. You have to go further from the lights emission points like cities, but that really worth it.
When all the stars are gazing at you... unforgettable feeling
Here is a kind of auto portrait shot at Sventoji, Lithuania (Baltic Sea coastline). Just set a camera with some delay to manage to get a position myself. That was the rare amazing night with some Northern lights at horizon
Enjoy it!

Awesome colors, amazing image! Well done!
Just an example of the amazing place that is Covão d'Ametade, a eco-campsite located in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park (North-Central Portugal) and integrated in one of the largest glacial valleys in all Europe. This beautiful stream is just one of several scenarios that one can enjoy at that place!
a very beautiful forest
a masterpiece
Thanks @ombrue
Cheers!
If I had to choose so far, this would be it for me.
I don't like forests and this kimd of environment, but how your photography skills are set up is just amazing.
I'd definitely vote for you.
Keep it up!
Thanks for your kind words @elsiekjay :)
Cheers!
Cheers bud.:)
That looks pretty spectacular! Thank you for your amazing entry. Tomas
Thanks Tomas :)
Cheers!
Night in Berlin

River bank of Spree near Friedrich-Ebert-Platz is probably my favorite place in Berlin. I think it is mostly because of Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus which symbolizes Berlin for me even more then Fernsehturm Berlin (the TV tower) and the Reichstag (just right behind me). I have been to Berlin several times, but that was my first night walk. Well, at night it is even more beautiful. The light designed very well there and reflections in the Spree river are great.
Awesome colors.
Thank you!
Those are some amazing colors! Thank you for your submission! Tomas
Romania has several beautiful medieval castles and fortresses. I visited most of them, and Corvinilor is by far my favorite for its fairytale-ish look. This photo is from my 2016 tour of my country of origin, and remains one of the most cherished surprise discoveries. (I am just now starting to select and edit the thousands of photos from that extensive trip, so there will be more coming! :). I'd love to visit this place again in summer to capture it with all the surrounding vegetation.

Thank you so much for your wonderful entry and support of my challenge. Have a great day. Tomas
This is a picture I took two days ago of my girlfriend skiing down into the sunset in the North of Norway. This was without a doubt the most perfect day we have had up here so far. To get to this place you have to drive 2 hours from Tromso towards Tromvik and to reach the top you have to hike up 4 hours. But that's more than worth it!
Incredible!!! Love this shot. Well done! I hope you win:)
Thanks, highly appreciated :)
That sure is an amazing entry and fabulous image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas
Such a great shot. Well done.
Thanks you so much, it was a case of being at the right place at the right time ;)
When you go down the Ardèche River on a canoë, you cross many rapid currents that can roll your boat around. 32 km paddling to the end. At some point, you will go under the "pont d'Arc" which is a natural arch created by the water.
Location: Vallon Pont d'Arc, France.
Spectacular as always! Thank you so much for your contribution. Tomas
The Arc de Triomphe in Paris is one of the most famous monuments in this city. The arch was built in 1806-1836 on the prize of Napeleon's speed in Battle of Austerlitz. The monument is 51 meters high and the arc height is 29 meters. It is located in the middle of Place Charles-de-Gaulle.
Thank you so much for submitting your entry with this fabulous image of the Arc de Triomphe!
I was traveling to Moscow with the night train from St. Petersburg. When I arrived it was around 5 am. The subway wasn't working yet. I decided to overtake the crowd and walk a few kilometers to the Moscow's most popular site - Saint Basil's Cathedral. I was so lucky - no tourist, а beautiful blue sky (rare to see in Moscow) and amazing soft colors.
Tremendous shot! Thank you for that!
Beautiful shot, @best-trip-eva! 💕 I love the vibrancy of colors!
