The opera House and the harbour bridge view from the botanic gardens during night time. Sydney is such a great city and the rock is the place to hang out. The opera house structure is just breathtaking and so intriguing, it is a great architectural piece!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #46 - winner announcement!

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Could be easily considered as some Antarctica landscape, but the truth is this is frozen coastline of the Baltic Sea, Lithuania after pretty long period of negative temperature. Very low shooting angle and very wide angle lens bringing quite unusual overall perspective for the scenery. Dying from the hot Europeans.. enjoy the COLD!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #46 - winner announcement!

@dali-gis African Wednesday entry:

Douz-Tunisia. Sahara desert: +40 heat, sand, wind and desert ships! It is here that tourists come to meet the sunset and ride a camel. We, too, did it, but only without any use. Independently organizing a trip to the Sahara, we traveled all tourist places by our friendly company on one car.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday week #46 - winner announcement!

@sjarvie5 North American Friday entry:

Crater Lake National Park. Crater Lake National Park is a beautiful park in southern Oregon. While most of the tourist go to the lake, which is amazing, the surrounding land is stunning as well and there are many hiking trails throughout the park. In fact the Pacific Coast Trail runs through the park.

Hi fellow Steemians, I've posted plenty of shots from Bolivia including flamingos and volcanoes, but I just don't get enough of them. I hope you feel the same! :) I took this photo in Southwest Bolivia, close to Chilean border. During that trip, I was stunned by the breathtaking wild nature every day.

T

This is so awesome. This looks like such a great place to go visit and get some amazing pictures.

Thank you Wes! :) Yes it's an amazing place!

Here is a view of the Tatacoa Desert near Neiva, Colombia. The beautiful red earth makes this an amazing place to spend a few days wandering around. There are many paths you can take to explore this dramatic landscape.

Thank you so much for your wonderful entry. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Tomas

The Inca city of Machu Picchu

Where the Incas used to live, nowadays hundreds of tourists visit every day to see the Inca heritage at the UNESCO heritage site. Despite its popularity, the amount of tourists in the ancient site is bearable due to the sheer size of the city.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

I am so jealous right now. This is on my bucket list. There is a village that you can visit on the way up to Machu Picchu where you can hold little baby sloths. My daughter is so excited to go on this trip just to hold sloths. This is such a great shot.

I really enjoyed my trip and the hike on the Salkantay trail, but I seem to have missed the sloths!

Amazing shot, this sure is on my list too!

Machu Picchu is an amazing place to visit!

This photo is from the incredible Jaspe river located in the Canaima National Park in Venezuela. This is one of the main attractions of the park since this beautiful river with its waterfalls has as surface a smooth red rock that is called Jaspe de alli derives the name of this natural monument. This rock makes the whole river look incredibly bright red for the admiration of visitors.

Wow, very interesting..... looked like a blood is running through the river.....

Lagoon of Cuicocha

The Cuicocha lagoon is a lagoon of volcanic origin located in the Quiroga parish of Cotacachi canton, Imbabura province, in the Northern Sierra of Ecuador. It is located in the internal foothills of the Cordillera Occidental, at the foot of the Cotacachi volcano, at 3,100 masl, and occupies 462.5 hectares.

Cactus in the High Andes

Screen Shot 2018-08-11 at 2.00.19 pm.png
Ah the High Andes! The highest mountains in the world outside of Central Asia. Snowstorms here reach low, even the cacti can get a bit of snow on them. I like the contrast in colours here with big snowy peaks and spiky plants below...

This can also be found on my blog

Wow, that is pretty fascinating that cactuses would grow in such a cold conditions.

Agreed! The world has some crazy stuff for us to see and take photos of... one day I'll make it to Czech Republic with camera in hand!

Uhlala, this Saturday is smoking hot, great photos from everyone. This is my humble contributions.

Lake Traful - Argentina
This is one of those places where your eyes get lost on the vastness of the blue lake and sky. On that place I've had one of the most beautiful nights of my life, where I slept using only the sleeping back below the starry sky. One night I woke up just to find a clear sky and the the International Space Station flying just above my head.

Stunning image, thank you so much for sharing.... Tomas

Isn't it beautiful? My camera was a 'potato' in terms of quality, but still

Thanks for hosting this contest, it's amazing

Spent 3 days in the Ecuadorian jungle. Amazing experience. This is the first night sunset in the middle of nowhere. Since it was not high season, we were the only ones in the camp. Very peaceful.

That sky looks beautiful, great entry!

My photograph of today was taken from one of the most important national parks of Venezuela, it is called "Warairarepano" but it is known by the name "El Ávila" it is located in the capital Caracas but it extends to several states. It is a mountainous formation and you can access it by car, cable car or simply by walking.

Thank you so much for your wonderful entry!

This photograph is of the beach la Galera on the Isla de Margarita - Venezuela. Appropriate place to spend a good day at the beach with family or friends. In addition, nearby is the famous Fortín de la Galera, where you can see beautiful landscapes like this and know a bit of history.

That looks stunning. What a great place for a day out on the beach.
