"Take only memories, leave only footprints."

What is your opinion on this interesting quote, my fellow Steemians? When traveling, are you always ecologically responsible and respecful of the places you are visiting? If you see some tourists behaving disrespectfully, do you intervene?

Let me know in the comments below, I am looking forward to your stories :)

Have a great start to the new week and Steem on!

Hi! I think this quote can be considered from different points of view:

  1. From the point of view of a tourist, a traveler, when a person must respect the places he visits. And every man must make efforts to ensure that those who will after him see not the ruins, but that the transient beauty which you want to admire again and again.
  2. And from another point of view I would consider this quote in the sense that ending up some period in life, and making an important decision not to regret what was done and try to keep the world around.

Returning to the topic of tourism and travel, I can say that visiting in different places and understanding their significance, I look around to see if I have damaged something having been there. And whether we cleaned all the garbage with my friends when we go camping on nature or we travel by the company. Also I look that visitors in zoos don't feed animals

This is something that you see on signs around popular landmarks, parks, and other places that attract tourists.

It means don't steal anything to keep for a "souvenir," and don't leave any trash behind. In other words, leave the place exactly as you found it.

Yep, absolutely spot on! Unfortunately, there are too many people disrespecting that simple rule... Sometimes it might be just too hard to resist to take your little stone or piece of rock! Not even talking about leaving a trash behind... I have been to some places where that is a real problem...

A really beautiful quato, this can be related to many things, for example we are bound vanish but all we leave behind are the deeds we do, travel and make memories cause the only thing that’s forever is memories, give and make memories for which you’ll be remembered and the memories which you’ll remember forever. Traveling is a great escape from the hassle of this world and feel alive and live fir yourself, it gives memories and experience. Thanks for sharing this amazing quato. Keep it up.

Yep, memories! Just priceless!

That's a good quote.
I was at school.
I often join the activities of nature lovers.
My teacher always tells us.
"Take only memories, leave only footprints."

When doing adventure in the wild. My teacher is always teaching.
Three things.

  1. Do not take anything. except the picture only

nature provides a variety of flora, animals, even rocks that captivate the heart to be souvenirs. But acts such as picking flowers or catching animals, will only damage nature. If you want to bring a souvenir just by painting or photographing it.

2). Leave anything but foot prints.

When adventuring, all previous activities, especially the waste generated are never abandoned, bring it home again. Because these objects are mainly plastic waste will have a great adverse impact on environmental sustainability. Including leaving no marks in the form of graffiti, strokes, and the like on trees and stones.

3).kill nothing but time.

Sufficient time alone was killed during the adventure.

when I see people ruin. surely I will admonish them.
let the beauty of nature remain preserved

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." Albert Einstein426095_3351218026007_229606719_n.jpg

I really like your teacher:).... Kill nothing but time, hmm... interesting! But do not kill to much of it, it is very precious:)....

What i understand from that great quote is that, wherever we find our self, we should always do what is right, give good regards to our self but then never forgetting the memories, that is never forget about what happened during your stay there whether good or bad, it actually an experience which is termed the best teacher. Well thanks for this question.

We should always do what is right! I like that! I wish more of us would just that!

Yes, that's when we would make this earth a better place for humanity. Thanks for your reply, am honored.

Yes, I am absolutely responsible, and yes, I would intervene in a situation that deserves it. After all, I am a convinced naturalist and ecologist. I think we have a great debt to the planet and its living beings, for all the destruction we have caused for so long. And I think that photographing nature and showing it and sharing with everyone could make us believe a little more conscience.
Finally the phrase you shared is beautiful and reflects what I think .. Thank you

Thumbs up! You are the man and the planet earth needs more like you! I need to become more proactive myself when I do see some wrongdoing! Have a great night. Tomas

Well, travelling is always a source of happiness and learning for the visitors. I do really respect all the places that i visit whether with my friends or family members. You asked a question above,

If you see some tourists behaving disrespectfully, do you intervene?

Yes, offcourse i do but in a very gentle way. I am not at all a violent person rather a quite gentle guy. Last Summer i went to visit mounting area of my cousin's city. What i saw, a group of teenagers were smoking there ( there personal act no issue with me) but when one of them threw the matchstick to enjoy the fire i rush towards them and requested them to stop this silly act. As this would burn all of the beautiful scenery of the location couple of them wanted a fight but i remained very calm and again requested them and finally they moved from there.

So my answer is YES i do intervene when i feel something is happening wrong for the public.

Thank you so much for the wonderful quote, Stay Blessed Tomas :)

Thumbs up for you to intervene! That can be really hard sometimes or the majority of the times as the matter of fact.... Most people would just turn away. Good on you! Tomas

What a great quote @czechglobalhosts! I do love traveling and the places I've been always the best memories of me. The feeling, the experience stays with me forever.

When I travel I love to mind my own business. I respect everyone and the place and its law. I enjoy and have fun and that's my travel all about.

Cheers! 🥂

Very imptortant thing you have mentioned in your comments... to have some fun! What else do we need, right:)...?
