A mysterious place is Melkhum Trail in Bangladesh!

in #travel3 months ago

Melkhum is an off-trail in the Sitakunda Mirsarai range of Chittagong. Locals say that "mel" refers to a type of vine that acts as a fish poison. They use the sap from this white flower plant to catch fish in the khum (a local term for a water body). After sprinkling it in the water, fish (especially shrimp) float to the surface after a while.

On the Melkhum trail, you may not find any large boulders, but the sunlight reflecting off the clear water will enchant you with the sparkling white stones like a nose ring. As you progress down the quiet and serene path of Melkhum, it feels as though a mysterious city is beckoning you. Colorful dragonflies and swarms of butterflies will flit around, while eerie sounds resonate in the air—all leading you closer to the desired destination, Melkhum!
