"Exploring the 3D Art Gallery: A Journey Through Imagination and Reality"
Assalamu Alaikum. How is everyone? I hope everyone is well by the grace of Allah. I am also doing quite well, Alhamdulillah. Even if we are not feeling good, we must try to feel good. For that, we need to take time to explore and enjoy ourselves. Traveling can relieve our long-standing fatigue, refresh our body and mind.
Friends, today I want to share some of my experiences and feelings from my outings.
On December 18, 2022, out of the blue, my friend Tarana called and said, "Friend, I’m not feeling great; let’s go out for a bit and explore somewhere nearby." I replied, "Sure, but where should we go? Where can we roam in this concrete jungle of Dhaka?" Thinking it over, I called another friend, Rabbi. I said, "Let’s go out and explore today." He agreed, suggesting we visit the Bangabandhu Military Museum, as I had noticed more people going there lately.
So, our destination was decided. The three of us took a bus to the Bangabandhu Military Museum located on Bijoy Shoroni, Tejgaon in Dhaka. Although our aim was the museum, we ended up entering the nearby 3D Art Gallery instead. Each person had to buy a ticket for 200 taka to enter. I thought the ticket price was a bit high.
The 3D Art Gallery is located in the exhibition hall of the Bangabandhu Military Museum on Bijoy Shoroni. It can be a great place to visit with family for a bit of refreshment on a day off.
Anyway, we entered the art gallery, where the walls showcased various types of 3D paintings. There were particularly striking images depicting rural life, national animals, items used in the Liberation War, natural scenes, mountains, waterfalls, seas, old royal clothing, portraits of our Prime Minister and the Father of the Nation, among many others. The images felt incredibly lifelike.
Upon entering the gallery, we had to wear foot masks for hygiene maintenance. I appreciated this initiative. Then we started looking at all the pictures one by one, capturing photographs with each.
The 3D Art Gallery has a total of three floors with approximately 70 to 100 pictures combined. It is open every day except Wednesday and national holidays, from 10 AM to 7:30 PM, but on Fridays, it opens from 3 PM to 7:30 PM.
Once inside the art gallery, I felt as if I had entered another world. At times, I felt like I was in a tea garden, or sitting with a tiger in the Sundarbans, lost in thought beside the Great Wall of China, or discovering an ancient cave that no one had ever explored in search of treasure! Just beyond the cave was a vast waterfall, with a boat in the midst, ready to cross a raging river. After crossing, I encountered the famous gorilla known as King Kong. After that encounter, my friends and I were transported to a lively tea shop painted on the wall, where it felt completely real to see hot, steaming tea being poured from a kettle into cups.
As we moved on, we encountered the Egyptian pyramids and mummies. After meeting the mummies, my friend insisted that I play her a tune on the piano. What could I do? I tried to play on the wall-painted piano in the lush green forest, even though no sound came out, haha. We had our share of music; now it was time to enter a village. The rural scenes in the art gallery were extraordinary. It felt like we had truly stepped into a village—collecting hilsa fish from fishermen and carrying rice from the fields on our shoulders with the farmers. It all seemed so real, not like mere pictures.
Visiting the art gallery allows you to discover a different world. You can search for a rickshaw under the rain with an umbrella. You can immerse yourself in the battlefield of the army, navy, or air force—everything is possible in the art gallery.
All the pictures in the art gallery are captivating. There are also enjoyable pictures for children. They can happily interact with Mowgli from The Jungle Book or fly around on Aladdin's magic carpet. They can even be trapped in a magician's bottle if they want!
The funniest and most delightful part is that you get the opportunity for a courtesy meeting with the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu, and the Honorable Prime Minister here, haha. After having a lengthy conversation with Bangabandhu, my friends and I took more photos and finally exited.
Then we went to a restaurant for a meal and headed back home.
That was our complete experience of visiting the 3D Art Gallery. I would love to hear how you found this blog. I encourage you to visit as well whenever you get the chance. If you like this post, it will inspire me to share more of my travel experiences to new places. Thank you, everyone!
