Dhamapur Lake

is located between Are and Katta village of Malvan town in Sindhdurg
district of Maharashtra.

This man-made lake was built during 1530 by the villagers and King
Nagesh Desai of Vijaynagar dynasty. The lake receives water during monsoon season and
remains filled with it throughout the year.

The water is utilised by local people for drinking,
irrigation, and some time for fishing purpose.

It is one of the biggest lakes in the district.
Since the time Maharashtra Tourism Development Cooperation has turned this place into
tourism spot, it has gained popularity for its natural scenery.

Bhagwati Temple

People visit this place not only to see the special lake but also to seek the blessings of God at
the Bhagwati and Sateri temple situated near the lake.

which also includes fruit trees such as Mango, Kokam, Coconut. The dense greenery is home
