A New York Adventure, Part Two
This is the follow on from part one, which you can read here.
Top of the Rock
Without a doubt one of my highlights of the entire trip, going up the Rockefeller tower... at night! New York is simply stunning in the dark, with all the lights from the buildings filling your view. Even though there were huge glass screens all around the edge of the roof (which caused some crazy reflections and glare from all the lights behind us) it was still an impressive sight.
THE Christmas Tree, Rockefeller Plaza
The iconic tree on Rockefeller Plaza. And, oh boy, did we pick the wrong (and right) night to go and see it. It was a Saturday night, and it seems the whole of New York wanted to descend upon the tree at the same time we did. I've never been in such a big crowd, where you are more or less hoping everyone is going to the same place as you because, as a lemming, you're going where they're going!
When we eventually did get closer to the tree, we were amazed to find an impromptu choir had formed. Someone was handing out little booklets with the words to the songs, so more and more people we are able to join in. I'm glad I had my super wide lens on the camera to capture this moment.
To be continued...
This is just part two. More to follow in part three!!!
