#travel Sunday Market at Gaya Street in Kota Kinabalu Malaysia

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemians,

if you are planning to explore Malaysia and especially Kota Kinabalu in Sabah on Borneo I can recommend you the Sunday Market on Gaya Street.

At first I read that it is a small market but it is actually quite large, way larger than I expected it to be. It is a rather normal street market but due to its size you can really get everything there. From food to clothes to flowers and traditional souvenirs. It is also in the city-center so you have many other interesting spots around it.

Sunday is not only for tourists. Locals sit at their stand, chat with each other, laugh and exchange the newest news. 😃

So if you are ever in the areaI definitely recommend it. I did not have the impression that it was overcrowded but it was a rather chilled vibe and the tents gave a lot of shadow in the heat.

I used a Canon EOS 200D for these photos
