These Mountains Are A New Mexico Fantasy Land

Are you yearning for adventure? Do you like the land of fantasy? Look no farther than the Sandia Mountains near Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a mountain of opportunity for those who like to climb the sheer cliffs, scale the mountains, or hike the trails. There are even tram rides where you can see enormous mountains of treasured rocks and cliffs. This is a land of unbelievable rock mountains, with a story to share.  It is the workmanship of nature. Everyone is welcome, as there is something for everyone.

On the west side of the mountain, nature, with it's shifting mountains, magnificent granite cliffs, steep peaks, and crags, towers above the valley below. This has formed an adventurers play ground. Some of these peaks are over 5,000 feet in height. Can you imagine the view of the desert below?  Can you hear the stories that these mountains have to tell? Stories of long days and shifting nights, where the wind blows through like an endless fury. Can you see the shapes that were formed, by this endless abuse of nature?

Look up and you will see the sky like you only can from a mountain. Stars that are hidden by the smog of the cities and the tall buildings.  The beautiful clear nights give a light show of their own, with twinkling stars, bright planets, and heavenly moons.

There are many named formations that have developed trails, many though are an advanced climb. If you are going to climb, stop by the visitors center and pick up a guide. It will describe all the many options and what skills you need.  The information is free, and will help you have fun and climb safely.

Are you ready for an adventure that is raw and different?  If you are ready, then join in the fun and explore the  Sandia Mountains for a few day of retreat from the busyness of life. Pack your bag and find a camp spot up on the mountain. There are many places that are developed, if you do not want to dry camp. Give your brain a rest, and leave your electronics at home. It is time for a raw, fresh adventure in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico.
