Quaint Fishing Village Of Lubec, Maine

Lubec, Maine is a small fishing village in the extreme Northeast corner of Maine. This fishing village is
picturesque, charming, and amazingly unaffected from outside influences. When you arrive in Lubec, you are walking straight into yesterday. Lubec sits on the Passamaquoddy Bay, where approximately 1, 350 people call this tiny fishing village home.

Lubec may be small, but there are enormous things to do both in the town and the surrounding area. Biking and hiking are fun pastimes from spring through fall. There are many trails that actually begin in the town and go out from that point. Biking, walking, and hiking are a way of life in Lubec. If you enjoy antiquing, you are in the right place. There are many antique shops in Lubec to help you with your antiquing life style.  For those who desire to take a boat out on Passamaquoddy Bay for a day of fishing, there are many boat rentals and charter companies waiting to serve you.

Leaf-peeping is amazing as the advent of fall turns the leaves to shades of yellows, reds, and oranges. There are few places where you will not see a beautiful sea of color. The fall is extremely beautiful in the State of Maine.

Cottage With A Peaceful View Of Passamaquoddy Bay

If you are looking for a peaceful place to paint, write, or just to get away from the world, then a quiet cottage on Passamaquoddy Bay is your answer. There is something almost mystical about the cottages overlooking the bay in the morning misty fog. What a spectacular place to leave the world behind and focus on writing, art, painting, or whatever your heart desires. In the morning mist, you can almost hear the silence in the air.

The Gems Of The Other Seasons

The Lubec, Maine countryside is the perfect place for a winter adventure of skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. The countryside is almost magical with it's slopes covered with inches of white fluffy snow. Lubec is a quaint town that looks like a Swiss village. What could be better than a winter adventure in Lubec, Maine?

Spring time in Lubec is a flower-lover's paradise. The countryside will be full of color as the meadows host a carpet of spring blooms. Charming cottages will host a pot or two of color by the door. Spring has finally arrived and the beautiful flowering bulbs lead the pack with the wild flowers right behind them.

The summer months are the perfect time for a whale watching adventure. Passamaquoddy Bay is host to the Humpback, Minke, and Finback Whales. Be sure to keep your eyes appealed for seals laying around on the rocks or swimming in the bay. Overseeing the bay is the magnificent Bald Eagle. A bay with whales, also means that there are plenty of small fish to feed the big guys. This is a perfect place for the Bald Eagle to share in the fishing.

On any day that you do not go out on the bay, or enjoy the countryside, there are plenty of tiny shops waiting to entice you with beautiful paintings and drawings from local artists. You will find galleries, studios, and gift shops all waiting to share their hidden treasures.
