Coffee time in Cau Kho

Cau Kho district in Ho Chi Minh City is a place where I spent some time drinking my daily Vietnamese ice coffee. It isn't even a coffee shop, just some chairs, and tables in front of a lady's house. A favorite place for the local cosmetician, GrabBike driver, shopkeeper and businessmen. The street was full of life every morning, people talked and laughed, just enjoyed life. And that's exactly the reason why I loved spending the mornings with these people.

After they got used to my presence, the cosmetician was brave enough to start a conversation with me. However, she didn't speak English at all. So we mimed, used the internet and asked people on the street for the translation of certain words. She was my favorite character from the group of the daily customers. She had different nail polish almost every day combined with a strong make-up, wore colorful shirts and shorts with high-heeled shoes or slippers. She always looked at me with a pander smile. I'll remember her outfit, clothes, nail polish, hairstyle, makeup and even her voice forever.

I don't know much about the GrabBike driver, he usually just came and left. But there was another man, who taught me how to choose the best banana and the other one who was totally surprised that I ate bananas for breakfast every morning. Well, it's not noodles, I know.

I always tried to guess what they're talking about. Their talk was so intense with big movements and loud voice, I was sure it was a gossip about the neighbors. :)

Thank you for reading my post! :) I appreciate the time you spent here.
