AIDAprima: Trip with "Santa Maria" watching Dolphins at Madeira
To entertain my son I booked a trip with the Santa Maria to go for the coast of Madeira (the island of flowers). It was titled as trip with a pirate boat (3.5 hours) which is just perfect for my three year old. However I was convinced that this is going to be only fun for him. But I was wrong.
We started at the harbor very close to the pier of the AIDAprima - so basically it just took 5 min with the bus or 15 min by feet. The ship looked like a pirate ship should look like and the seaman were dressed convincingly as pirates (needed to explain my son that they are not real and that they are nice pirates...).
After ringing the ships bell the sails were set (ok they were just show - also the diesel engine was started as well ...) and we went out towards the sea. On the way out we passed the AIDAprima - perfect chance to get a picture from the sea side.
While driving around the coast we were chilling and enjoying the sun (we had perfect weather for that trip). First thing that caught my attention was a green spot directly at the coast which looked very inaccessible. It was a plantation of vegetables and fruits which is only accessible through boat or a small cable car. Somehow wired but cool.
Further on we got surprised and the trip became an highlight also for me. Dolphines - first far away and a few but than closer and closer and more and more. We ended right within a school of dolphines which came right side by side to our boat being interested in what we are doing out there. Fantastic experience with fantastic pictures.
And more of them:
But on video you get even a better impression how many of them there were.
(Unfortunately I can't embed it here in the article - why is that so complicated? If someone knows how to just let me know in the comment - I would love to edit the post than)
So after 3.5 hours the trip ended and not only me was still amazed from the trip. I guess my son will now always asked for dolphines when we are close to the sea ...
You can just copy the code from the Steemit Post with the Video into this post to at least link it ;)
Unfortunately DTube videos can not be embedded as playable pictures yet!
Or next time you also could use the "Advanced" Settings in DTube to write this Text directly together with the video in order to only have one post.
Try to copy this in this post and see if the video was embedded:

It seemed to have worked! Great.
Need to try the advanced settings by time. Does it give me all the options I have in here?
Depends on what you mean with "options".
There is (as you will have seen) no editor there, however you can use the same markdown and html codes there as you can in the editor here ;)
I personally just prewrite the text here on the steemit editor, that way I have a preview as well. When I am happy with the text, I just copy the whole text-code into the advanced section on @dtube.
Not the most userfriendly option ever - but it works fine for me.
Hi my friend Famunger i'm glad to see your post, a very beautiful post as always :)
Little acts like this is necessary to get even stronger bonds with your son.And of course, usually little trips like this gives you maximum pleasure and really good memories. Thanks for sharing
I'd love to visit this beautiful Island one day!!!
I didn't know Madeira is a great spot to do Dolphine watching. AIDAprima cruise looks so cute lol.
DTube is complicated indeed, first you have to convert to mp4 and it's so difficult to get it embedded, so sometimes I have to update the video again on Youtube. Nice video though. Looking forward to see more.
Wow! That was some father-son bonding time. I wish I had such time with my dad before he died, I would be ever grateful. I'm sure your not will never forget this experience. Keep up the good work @famunger
I can't wait for a chance to have a trip like that!
Lovely photos!
