Seeing The Sights In Historic St. Agustine, Florida
Founded September 1565, St. Augustine is not only the oldest town in Florida, but is the oldest city in the United States. St. Augustine is a small town at the nothern most part of Florida on the Alantic Ocean. It's Spanish Colonial architectecture is beautiful and this small city is restored and current. St. Augustine sits right on the beach that carries it's name. While in the area one might want to also take one of the horse and buggy tours.
Love this building, but the picture was shot from the car. I include it to show how clean and beautiful this little city is. Notice the cobblestone street off to the right; those are all over and help radiate the charm of this historic city.
Notice the simple lines and curves of this period. Simple beauty is everywhere. If you want to see the oldest city in our nation, it is waiting to charm you. Take one of the many tours. There are van tours, bus tours, horse and buggy tours, or just rent one of the little go cars. It is all there in sunny Florida, with no passport needed. So gather the family and hop on over to see a little of our Nations history, it is in your own back yard.

Do they still have the fountain of youth? Juan Ponce de León, in 1513, landed in La Florida. I thought that's what St.Augustine was famous for, they must have stopped promoting it. It was a big deal in the 70's.
It is still there, but there are so many other things to see, and it was pouring that day. So couldn't get out much.
I guess it's only a hole in the ground, after all.
I would like to see it next time. Hopefully it won't be raining.
