The end begins tomorrow heralding the beginning
Tomorrow (Friday 4th) is the last day of work before my vacation and I have a pretty busy day ahead...OK, full disclosure: No I don't. I pretty much have everything sorted already so tomorrow is a show and go day which means show up, do nothing, then go. I'll be diverting my work phone to the poor sucker taking over my role for me at about 2pm - Diverting my emails too. OK, you got me...That may happen at 10am! Nah, not really. I'm a responsible guy.
I'm keen on getting away though and need the holiday as much as my wife also does. In truth, she works harder than I do...She does different things of course, but my work is lower impact than hers. She's also had the worry of nearly losing her mum to cancer over the last year and so this vacation is well-needed.
We are off to New Zealand, flying Sunday, and have planned only to go to the South island, the less populated one. We're going to meander around in-between a few activities we've booked and are really looking forward to a couple of aimless weeks with nothing to worry about except understanding their language. (I'm an Aussie and speak English, as do New Zealanders...But that accent Bru!) 😄 Just kidding, it's all good.
We love our nature, getting away from cities and are looking forward to cruising on Milford Sound and dropping a helicopter down into My Earnslaw Burn and on a glacier too! Ah the sweet feeling of having no one around! Best of all though is the lack of much of a plan or schedule. We have a special dinner planned for our wedding anniversary which will happen whilst away and as it's also Faith's birthday the same day it's a double celebration. Should be epic.
Anyway, as the title says, tomorrow is the the end of work for a while and the beginning of vacation. I'll be posting each day along the way if possible and will try and respond as much as I can too. My posts will be shorter though I guess...I can hear people applauding from here. 😄 Look out for my posts if you like and don't hesitate to comment - I'll get back at you when I can.
