One of the most recognized signs heralds the entrance to one of the most famous cities in the world. The Las Vegas sign welcomes visitors entering the city along the Interstate 15 route. For many of us that have traveled from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, the sign says, you have arrived.

Another iconic emblem of the city, the scene below has changed dramatically over the years. The famous Las Vegas Cowboy, located on the original downtown Freemont street, is now about 3 feet shorter and underneath a canopy that runs the lenght of the street.

A favorite city of yours truly, I've been there countless times over many decades. I've watched as the city's population has doubled, yes doubled, several times. It is truly an amazing city. Originally in the middle of nowhere, the city has become a meca for sun loving enthusiats world over.

From its humble beginnings in agriculture, hard to believe I know, but there was once a spring in the middle, of town that feeds the whole city. There is now a museum honoring its place in history. Through the wild gangster and development of atomic bomb years, Las Vegas has remained a go-to destination for fine dining, gambling and shows. The city's skyline is second to none in the world.

Equally spectacular are the sites outside of the city. Offering amazing desert vistas teaming with wildlife, there are many must visit sites around the city.

A short drive away stands a phenomenal piece of history, the London Bridge. Painstakingly moved to its new location, adding yet another travel worthy site to the area.
