Travel with me #1 : Dahican Beach In Davao Oriental The Most Popular Beach For Surfers
Stunning, astounding, jaw-dropping....you cant simply describe it out in one word of how beautiful this place is.
LOCATION: Davao Oriental
Dahican Beach is popular among surfers and other activities
Unquestionably the best in Davao Region. (Davao City is the safest city in the Philippines)
A popular destinations among surfers, (as it is said to be the surfer capital in Davao Oriental) vacationers and local travelers, one of the most sought after and talk about beaches in Davao, is the pride of the Mati, the Dahican beach.
Facing the Pacific ocean, it is a perfect paradise for those who seek a quite version of the famous Boracay. Since the two are commonly compared because of its *same-like crystal sands* and surreal blue water beneath the sunny sky.
But every place has its own uniquities, and Dahican beach has a lot to offer that will definitely make you want to visit again.
If you love the big waves, you can learn how to surf, and enjoy sports activities like skim boarding, snorkeling, swimming, ofcourse, and play.....or you can just enjoy walking along its 7 kilometer stretch, surrounded by coconut tress. That's heaven enough for me.
Dahik or Sea Turtles can be found in Dahican Beach
It is also a home of sea turtles, where the Dahican name was derived from. As *Dahik* means to breed - where Panikan from the sea come to the shore to nest.
As a tourist or if you are a part of the locality, helping to preserve and protect it should also be our utmost priority. While we enjoy its perks, we must not forget to be responsible and careful not to pollute the place.
If you are planning to visit the place soon or in the future, you may want to schedule it around the last week of October to catch its main Festival of the year, the colorful, Sambuokan Festival. The day of celebration for the founding of the city of Mati, wherein the term Sambuokan is derived from - means - oneness.
The highlights of the festival includes, native dancing, most notably the Indak-indak (a street dancing competition) and sports competitions like Banca racing (our native boat) and so on.
