Kaiping Diaolou Tourist Attraction #2 LI Garden 开平碉楼 立园

Today I continue to take with you to the Kaiping Diaolou Tourist Attraction, Li Garden, which is mostly known for the world cultural heritage sites.

LiGarden is a private garden built in 1936, by Xie Weili who was a overseas Chinese. Located in Bei Yi Village, Tang Kou town,Kaiping city of Guangdong Province. It is such a garden, which reflects the combination of Chinese and Western elements.

Walking in the garden, you can not only feel the atmosphere of the Chinese garden, such as pavilions, but also feel the the characteristics of Western architecture, was a typical Chinese and Western landscape architecture.

立园，是一个私家园林。位于广东省开平市塘口镇北义乡，是旅美华侨谢维立先生于1936年建造的。

走在这里，既能感受到幽雅的中国园林的情调，亭台楼榭，又能看到西方建筑的特点，是典型的中西结合的私家园林。

There are about six to seven villas and a watch tower in here, most of the villas are three or four storeys high. Their appearance have the characteristics of western style, and the top of them are the style of Chinese ancient architecture, which inlaid with green glazed tiles.

这里大约有别墅6-7座，一栋碉楼。别墅大部分都是三到四层的小楼。外观明显有西式的特点，但是楼顶一眼就能看出带有中国古代建筑的样式，镶嵌着绿色的琉璃瓦。

When I visit some historical building, I always want to see the owner's real scenes life . Are you interested in it like me ? let's look at it.

The ground are paved with red marble tiles, which came from Italia, looks still bright after so many years.

我们参观某一历史建筑，很希望能看到当初主人在这里的生活情景。你们是不是也像我一样，很好奇别墅里面是什么样子呢？下面就来看一看吧。

室内地面均铺有暗红色的方砖，据说这都是彩色意大利石，当年进口过来的，经过几十年的使用，仍很亮丽。

Although these buildings has the characteristics of Western, their habits almost were Chinses style. The following part of the furniture are antique, and the rooms have a baronial feel.

虽然建筑有西式的特点，但是内部家具，生活习惯还是很中式的。你看这古朴幽雅，古色古香的中式家具。

The kitchen is at the corner of the hall. As there are nobody living here, and the two large pot disappeared.

这应该是厨房一角了，由于这里早已没有人居住，锅也不知去向。

The garden is quiet, and graceful. No matter who strolls in the garden, I think, he can feel the comfort of nature.

园中清静优美，无论谁漫步于园中，都能感到大自然的舒适。

There are various trees, old trees that reach into skies, and the trees give welcome shade. it is such a beautiful environment , and is bound to keep birds .

The following is birdcage.

这里花草树木繁多，古木参天，绿树成荫。自然少不了养鸟的乐趣。下面就是园中的鸟笼。

And there is a big garden house next to birdcage.At that time, if you were here, you would feel that birds sing and flowers give forth their fragarance. Nowadays, the things are still there, but men are no more the same ones.

而鸟笼旁边就是一个大大的花房，真正的鸟语花香啊！当年的这里该是何等的美丽啊！

伴着微风，站在这里欣赏周围的风景真是一种享受。由于时间关系，我们并没有走全另外几个村落。只游览了自立村和立园两个景点，这两个地方距离高速很近，一天便可逛完。真是不虚此行。

It was a fine feeling indeed to be standing on the terrace watching the marvelous view over the surrounding countryside, with a light breeze on my face. What I saw was really amazing, and I am very glad I did so.
