Barbados, Bridgetown

Bridgetown is the largest city and the capital of Barbados. As a wealthy sugar colony, it became an English center of the African slave trade until that trade was outlawed in 1807, with final emancipation of slaves in Barbados occurring over a period of years from 1833.

I sadly did not have too much time to walk around the island and do a lot of sightseeing, but I did go to a beautiful sandy beach where there were a lot of free swimming Sea Turtles. Sea turtles are one of earth's most ancient creatures and they're powerful swimmers, covering enormous distances in relatively short periods of time. Swimming with these sea turtles is an incredible experience, which I highly advise anyone in Barbados to do.

Not too far away is also an underwater ship wreck. It's a cool diving opportunity, to explore a ship wreck with many fishes swimming around. There are a lot of tropical fish, eels, frog fishes, seahorses, and many others.
