Spending the New Year's Eve in Mount Sibayak

in #travel7 years ago

Hello people of the earth!!!
How was your new year? Have you make your new year resolutions? How and where did you spent the last second of 2017 and the first second of 2018?
This time I'd like to share my story when I and my friends spent our new year's eve on top of the mount Sibayak.
Mount Sibayak is located in the north edge of Berastagi (meaning:ricetown), Jaranguda, Doulu, Kabupaten Karo, North Sumatra. It's a inactive volcanic mountain along with it's pair Mount Sinabung in the west. 20180101_062849.jpg

here's the view from the valey (I'm sorry If my camera sucks :( )20171231_181333.jpg

this is where we stopped for refilling our energy, you can see the foggy on the top of the mountain behind us20171231_175453.jpg

We spent a night on the mountain to see the fireworks from the city on the new year's eve. Unfortunately I didn't take any picture of it as it was so cold outside, so I stay inside the tent while peeking outside :D
At dawn, we decided to get on the top of the mountain to see the sunrise. you can see the sparkling city from there

Unfortunately, due to thick fog we couldn't see the sunrise.20180101_070438.jpg
However the view from the top was fascinating, and it is worth a visit.
